The TWIL development team has been working hard to deliver new features to the TWIL video learning app. First, approvals provide a way for groups to control when user generated content goes live. TWIL has always had the ability to define users as contributors or just consumers, but many organizations have requested the ability to put a review and approval process in place before content is made available to the entire team. Given our background with content moderation this was a logical request and an easy addition. Check it out when you can. The next cool feature is Playlists. Playlists allow you to create a logical ordered grouping of TWILs. You can still create individual TWILs, but when you want to present your users with a more robust experience, playlists are the answer.

Mzinga is named a Hot Vendor in Learning by Aragon Research for TWIL
Mzinga focuses on mobile collaborative video learning
Burlington, MA – Aug 18, 2016 – Aragon Research (http://www.aragonresearch.com), a leading technology research and advisory firm, has identified Mzinga as a Hot Vendor in Learning with our new Mobile Video Learning platform – TWIL. Mzinga (http://www.mzinga.com) is a leading provider of learning technologies and social media solutions for companies and organizations worldwide.
Each year, Aragon Research selects Hot Vendors across multiple markets that are doing something truly new or different. They may have new technology that expands capabilities, a new strategy that opens up markets, or just a new way of doing business that makes them worth evaluating.
This 2016 Hot Vendor report highlights a new emphasis in learning primarily due to the exploding demand for mobile video content aimed at employees as well as customers. “Mzinga has invested heavily in social learning over the years. As the demand for mobile video learning has increased, we chose to launch TWIL. TWIL stands for This Week I Learned. It is a mobile app and web portal that allows teams of any size to record videos and related content, share them with their team, solicit feedback and questions, and collaborate,” said Mike Merriman, CMO at Mzinga. “We’re thrilled to be recognized as a Hot Vendor in this new mobile video marketplace.”
“What makes TWIL hot is the ease with which users can upload and share Videos and other content. TWIL is secure and shares information exclusively within the company. Users can comment, ask questions, and collaborate directly on TWIL’s Video learning platform,” reports Jim Lundy, CEO of Aragon Research.
TWIL can also be used in conjunction with other learning environments by leveraging The Mzinga Learning Record Store (LRS) and the Experience API (xAPI). This allows organizations to track a wide variety of learning experiences that their employees, customers and partners want and need, in a format that’s engaging and exciting.
